At age 15, Ty ran away to join the circus. Actually, following his dreams in a Chrysler Lebaron, his Mother Kitty and Grandmother, Mary Telfair drove him thru five states and personally dropped him off at the Big Top. Ty was The Robert’s Brothers Three Ring Circus’s Youngest Indipendent entertainer: doing pre-show audience worm up, Duo clowning during intermission, a Solo Clown Juggling Act, as well as working as a (simultaneously performing the duties of a roustabout during the day.
Ty later went on to train at The North Carolina School of the Arts, School of Acting, later performing with The San Francisco City Circus, Bindlestiff Family's Palace Theatre in Times Square, The Old Village Gate Theatre Off Broadway, Laughing Liberally Lab at the 45th Street Theatre, and in San Francisco based Mystic B.A.N.T.U. Family Circus--a healing arts collective. Ty continued development of his Wild West Circus Arts repertoire which has led him around England and through the U.S. to New York City and now Montreal where he continues to create and be inspired as an total theater actor. Last winter Ty had the great honor of working with Delorez Leonard, a founding member with Cirque du Soleil in Hawaii. Ty is currently training Circus theater in Montreal.
Skills Wild West: Expert with whips and ropes, including comedy (over 30 gags). Gun spinning, bolos, horseback ridding.and yodeling Dance:, tap, step, break (Pop and lock), fire, jazz (Fosse), ballet, and modern. Circus: Expert Juggler, hat and cane manipulation, can balance allmost anything. Clowning,, tight wire, unicycle, fire eating and fire breathing, plate spinning, meteor balls and Rollo bollo. Spectacle: U.V. rodeo tricks and fire dancing. Comedia dell Arte. Instruments: Beat box, Tiko and set drumming, harmonica, Jaw harp, ukulele, spoons, impersonating trumpet and trombone. SFX: baby crying. Shotgun, horse trot, bray and whinny.
